First Artists are Announced!

GrottoFest is very proud to announce the following acts on the 2014 line-up. This is just the first seven - we have 12 more amazing acts yet to be announced in the coming weeks. Not only have we stepped up the quality of acts, we have also added a third stage. By popular demand, we are honoured to have Nicky Bomba back again... however this time he is bringing the whole band!

‘From Glastonbury to GrottoFest’ - Nicky Bomba has jumped on his musical boat again to deliver a party-filled island adventure with his band BUSTAMENTO. A  shaking five piece that pays homage to the upbeat rhythms of the Caribbean, covering the Calypso, Mento, Early Reggae and Ska styles. BUSTAMENTO are currently on tour having just played to huge international audiences at Glastonbury Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival…and now they’re coming to you! CLICK HERE TO WATCH

Fearlessly independent, the genre defying HUSSY HICKS have followed a trail of possibilities, random twists and turns and discovered a musical world all of their own. Their influences are drawn from family record collections of old skool blues and country, and from their travels, combining a distinctly Australian roots edge with European gypsy guitar, Arabic rhythms and optimistic social commentaries. HUSSY HICKS have been welcomed with honorary memberships into blues, folk, country and jazz circles, spreading their good vibes across festival stages and venues throughout Europe, America and Australia, with the single goal of playing music for the absolute joy of it. Boasting members from some of Brisbane’s best-loved bands, WE ALL WANT TO are essential on record and completely undeniable live. Their shows are a primal collision of poppy punk, sweet folk, gritty blues and grandiose sound-scapes, swirled into singalong anthems and intimate whispers, at once powerful and fragile. Brisbane siblings BAREFOOT ALLEY are a 'take-no-prisoners' blues rock band. Yes, they are a two piece, but don’t let that fool you – they play loud, heavy riffs that will shake the dust off the Grotto paddock and have you involuntarily head-nodding. With debut album ‘24 Hours’ recently released and a heap of stellar shows under their belt, BAREFOOT ALLEY are primed and ready to blow the roof off the Grotto stage. CLICK HERE TO WATCH

Winners of this year’s prestigious Bluesfest Busking Competition, EDDIE BOYD AND THE PHATAPILLARS from Sydney’s Blue Mountains mash hillbilly tonk together with the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, and The White Stripes amongst other fine influences. They maintain a riff-driven sound with a folky edge and deliver it all with wild abandon, passion and plenty of decibels. GrottoFest is proud to maintain our ongoing partnership with the Bluesfest Busking Competition. CLICK HERE TO WATCH

“Great family friendly affordable day out. Great atmosphere and music. The crowd was at a comfortable level, and so was the volume of the music. BYO a hit, and the curry hut rocked. This will be my festival of choice from now on.” Kate Williamson

“Thanks for a wonderful day! All the family had such a good time, we've been to a festival before that said it was kid friendly.... and SO wasn't! Yesterday was a safe, fun way the whole family could enjoy live music. And what great music it was. Can't wait for next years’. We'll be bringing all our friends." Ange Gownes
